Director, Corporate Communications - Pharma at Shionogi Inc.

Job Description:

The Director, Corporate Communications will oversee the strategic planning, management and maintenance of all internal and external U.S. Corporate communications messages and channels. The role will support external media brand communications in partnership with the commercial organization.  This role will be responsible for leading the function and ensuring that company messages are consistent, amplified and flow across all communication channels and collateral materials with the goal of raising the awareness and understanding of Shionogi in the United States. 


RESPONSIBILITIES



  •  Improve the SI brand aligned with corporate branding standards while customized to reflect critical local differences that strongly position SI as the exciting, growing organization that it is.

  •  Develop and implement a communications strategy for the corporation that builds and maintains a positive corporate brand in the US.

  • Manage corporate overview presentation.

  •  Evolve and oversee the execution of a strategic social media plan including but not limited to LinkedIn and Twitter.

  • Oversee the enhancement and maintenance of the corporate website including methods to deliver message, ease of navigation, and clarity of information; ensures that all content is current and relevant.

  •  Manage Public Relations Firm, acts as corporate spokesperson and respond to members of the media in a timely manner.

  •  Collaborate closely with commercial and medical functions to support marketed and in-line brands serving as the subject matter expert as it relates to public relations.

  •  Assist executive leadership in developing presentations, speeches, and other important corporate messages.

  •  Provide consistent and timely information to employees through various communications programs and channels.

  •  Work cross-functionally with global and regional (predominantly Japanese and European) counterparts as required to ensure corporate and product brand image continuity.

  •  Act as company expert on corporate branding and messaging, consulting with other functions as needed.

  •  Oversees and support executive leadership messages through various internal channels including responsibility to organize and support message development of company Town Halls.

  •  In collaboration with Legal, maintains the Corporate Communications SOP in accordance with business priorities.

  • Must demonstrate a keen eye towards attention to detail and a passion to integrate the voice of patients and customers when and where possible.

  •  Develop, implement, and adhere to annual budget.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS



  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or related field.

  • 6 plus years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in pharmaceuticals or consumer products – and /or agency experience focused on the pharma industry.

  • Experience revising and maintaining corporate intranet and corporate external websites.

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, communications, writing and editing skills.

  • Strategic; Creative; Collaborative; Hands-on; Solution oriented.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly-collaborative, team environment.

  • Must be flexible to participate in calls with global counterparts that will occasionally occur outside of standard business hours.

  • Strong PowerPoint skills.

  • Experience in leveraging and communicating concepts in online and social media formats.

  • Experience with content management systems and the ability to create and edit pages.

  • Ability to demonstrate a strategic, cross-collaborative, results-driven mindset.

  • Corporate branding experience; Global interface experience is a plus.

  • Flexible work arrangements will allow for work from home, but we suggest you live a commutable distance to our offices in Florham Park, NJ -- to allow for your convenience on days when you are required or need/want to work onsite.
