We are looking for a talented Principle Software Engineer to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Corporate/CBS Segment in Columbus IN / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• This Principle role that will contribute to the operations and infrastructure of the project along with the other Principle Software Engineers


• Work with other Principle Software Engineers in deciding the technical directions of the teams projects


• Will help to provide and that best practices and guidelines for Principle Engineering Software team, and ensure that those guidelines and practices are being used.


• Will work with operations team with the Operations team on shared project or applications to make sure that software for project/clients is being properly deployed


• Work with the technical architecture lead and technical architecture group in the development of different projects


• Will manage the code pipelines, make sure that the pipelines are up to date, and work to integrate new technologies that could be used during a project

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering or related subject, or relevant experience equivalent.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Significant experience working as a software engineer with the following knowledge and experiences is highly preferred:

- Working in Agile environments;

- Fundamental IT technical skill sets;

- Taking a system from coping requirements through actual launch of the system;

- Communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines;

- Professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations.

• 7+ years of experience in the phases of cloud DevOps Life Cycle including development, integrations, testing, automation, monitoring, and build & artifact packaging, deployment systems, on-call rotation, and SCRUM/Kanban

• Experience developing and configuring message brokers such as AWS Kinesis and Kafka and in-memory caching stores such as Redis and Memcached

• Experience with database (SQL and NoSQL) design and development and data processing pipelines or ETL (extract, transform, load) systems

• Experience deploying highly available production systems on AWS using AWS Code Pipeline and AWS CloudFormation

• Exposure to IoT devices and platforms; RaspberryPI, Arduino, or AWS IoT Core 

• Experience with telemetry or remote monitoring is a plus 

• Multiple OS exposure: Linux (Debian variants preferred, BSD & RHEL acceptable), Windows, and MacOS

• Significant command shell experience such as z shell, bash, and PowerShell

• Experience developing frameworks and integrating pre-built frameworks such as Springboot, Django, or ReactJS to design custom applications

• Experience with production metrics systems inclusive of alarming/alerting and tuning notifications/thresholds; good experience analyzing application and infrastructure logs such as AWS CloudWatch, New Relic, and Dynatrace

• Experience designing and integrating HTTP/JSON web applications, microservices, and SAAS design using Java and Python

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or a related field

• Exceptional written, spoken, and visual communication skills

 

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• College or University degree in Computer Science or some other related field.


• Will have at least 8+ years of experience in the software engineering field or related fields


• Have a strong understanding of microservices, and experiences working with as well as implementing those experiences to future projects


• Must have a strong history of managing code pipelines
