CHUBB is currently seeking a CommerciaI Insurance Program Underwriter (Combined UW/UA Role) to join the New Haven Office Underwriting team.

Job Responsibilities:

~ Underwrite a portion of the Burgee Yacht Program written through our New Haven office. Estimated written premium for this position is roughly $5M and consists of roughly 400 policies. There are multiple Underwriters supporting this program.

~ Lines of business would include Package (Property & General Liability), Monoline GL, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, and Marine Liability.

~ Complete management of Standardized Tools and Inventory Management for communication with the processing centers.

~ Achieve favorable rate, retention, and profitability results. ~ Account rounding and some potential for new business.

~ Monitor and track results using CMR and PMR Futures. ~ Service accounts (internally/externally) based on Chubb  guidelines. ~ Develop strong marketing relationships with the broker (Gowrie) and all branch personnel in order to successfully manage the business. Business travel may be required 1-2 times annually.

Skills and Competencies: ~ Candidate must have proven ability to successfully negotiate and develop strong producer relationships. ~ Proven track record of service orientation is required. ~ Knowledge of marketing principles, underwriting, and pricing strategies. ~ The aptitude to attract and retain profitable business is essential. ~ Solid background in risk analysis is essential. ~ Candidate must have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

~ Candidate must have very strong Time and Desk Management skills in conjunction with good organizational skills. Proper management of Outlook email is critical.

~ The ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment. This would also include Underwriting Leadership, Operations staff, and field management/underwriters. ~ The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is crucial.

~ Knowledge of all rating systems and CUW a plus.

Education and Experience:

~ High School Diploma or equivalent. ~ Minimum 3-5 years of underwriting and/or UA experience.
