Role
Responsible for developing meaningful analysis and reports used for decision making, business management and process measurement/improvement. This position must deliver effective data visualizations that drive decision making. The Operations Manager works closely with district/department and/or functional leaders to determine reporting requirements, create reports, and quality test reports prior to distribution. Independently scope reporting objectives and assess existing reports to drive report creation/modification and drive consistency across districts. Perform statistical modelling to identify improvement opportunities. Serve as the liaison for the Network Implementation & Operations (NI&O) organization to district teams and cross-functional partners. Identify best practices and guide districts toward consistency. Coordinate implementation and training efforts across district teams which result in consistent usage across all regions. Maintains reporting catalog with technical rules and version history. Collaborates with Crown Castle Data Analytics Community.
Essential Job Functions
Independently develops and deploys Power BI reports and analysis on multiple projects/programs in parallel that is accurate, complete, and properly summarized to aid in management of business and decision making
Assists managers with report design and development. Tests reports and ensures that they perform as expected
Utilizes PowerBI and other business intelligence tools to develop meaningful data summaries and predictive visualizations
Produces weekly, monthly, and quarterly trend and activity reports as well as other operational and management reports. Ensures that reports are produced per scheduled timelines for review by functional management teams
Analyzes large amounts of data and investigates anomalies. Works in conjunction with other departments and/or teams when necessary to complete large data reviews
Ability to produce workflow diagrams, identify process inputs/outputs, perform root cause analysis and analyze statistical measures of central tendencies.
Ability to think logically and objectively through problems and apply principles of LEAN Six Sigma process improvement to guide toward resolutions
Understands how to interpret corporate data and join data across multiple systems & tools
Responsible for querying and summarizing data from multiple databases (ex. JDE, Oracle, CRM, Service Now, PMT, OSPI) and other corporate systems
Independently creates financial models that include but are not limited to cost, ROI and forecasts that provide management with clear and concise explanations of relevant trends, outlooks, and/or exceptions
Analyze and review existing reporting/processes and provide recommendations for improvement and enhancement
Participate in peer reviews of work products and performance results
Develop & lead training of reporting tools for teams throughout the region
Maintain knowledge of technology in use and/or innovations under development for its impact or potential impact on the operational business process
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Business, Accounting/Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Management Science or related quantitative discipline
Master of Statistics or Data Science preferred
Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Principles and/or PMP a plus but not required
Experience/Minimum Requirements
Minimum three (3) years of telecommunications experience or equivalent work experience required
Five plus (5)+ years business intelligence, financial and operational reporting experience
Experience conducting process improvement projects
Extensive experience with forecasting methods and data analysis
Experience creating Data Visualizations
Extensive experience in requirements gathering, scope drafting, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives on schedule
Experience with relational databases, specifically strong knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle
Experience in writing complex DAX functions in Power BI and data modeling
Strong foundational knowledge of MS Excel (specifically, advanced formulas, pivot tables and charts) including experience building complex financial models
Experience creating PowerPoint presentations
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively on multiple complex projects/programs in a deadline-driven environment
Other Skills/Abilities
Strong business and financial acumen
Ability to summarize large amounts of complex data into actionable management reports
Ability to problem solve to determine root causes of anomalies
Ability to develop reports using various software and tools (Oracle, WebFOCUS, Excel, Tableau, Power BI)
Skilled with Data visualization design and best practices
Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects and work well under pressure
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills – must possess strong public speaking skills
Strong knowledge of JDE / Oracle and other data analysis and financial ERP tools
Customer focus in problem-solving approach
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and team first mentality
Strong knowledge of telecommunications and network construction in both the Public and Private rights-of-way a plus.
The ideal candidate will possess both an expertise in reporting and analytics as well as an understanding of workflows and customer needs
Curiosity, initiative, and drive, along with the ability to quickly learn new technology, and a willingness to think strategically and tactically will be critical to success in this position

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders that requires up to 25% travel.
