Job Description

We are looking for a new Payroll Analyst to be part of a team that will effectively process and analyze multi- state US payroll data for 5,500 employees in 50 states on a biweekly and weekly basis. As the new Payroll Analyst, you must have in depth knowledge of payroll wage and hour laws, federal, and state tax laws as well as familiarity with all types of pre and post-tax benefits, 401K, and leave of absences rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:
• Calculate and process transactions included in the Gross to Net payroll
• Termination Pay (voluntary & involuntary); vacation on termination
• Leave payments STD, LTD and STR
• Overpayments & recovery
• Prepare file loads for payroll input
• Create on-demand checks and ACHs for off-cycle payments
• Set up Garnishments
• Research, resolve and respond to escalated Tier 1B and Tier 2 payroll inquiries through managing payroll cases from HR call center and e mails

After payroll reporting and outbound vendor file review, reconciliation, and wire for vendor payments • Research and review payroll legislative updates as it relates to payroll
• Plan, test & implement legislative changes in payroll system and/or processes
• Identifies & escalates non-compliance with all applicable tax regulations and company policies

• ADP payroll system configuration (Globalview) & liaise with payroll provider
• Provide recommendations and implement process improvements and optimization projects
• Research and review payroll legislative updates as it relates to payroll
• Plan, test & implement legislative changes in payroll system and/or processes
• Identifies & escalates non-compliance with all applicable tax regulations and company policies
• Coordinate and manage the production of all local audit deliverables relating to payroll and related systems
• ADP payroll system configuration (Globalview) & liaise with payroll provider
• Provide recommendations and implement process improvements and optimization projects
• Consult on integration feeds for Manulife HR & 3rd party integration files

Job Requirements:
• 5+ years full cycle Payroll Processing experience
• Supported a minimum of 2000-3000 employees in a fast-paced environment
• Supported a large selection of states across the US
• Experience with large 3rd party payroll providers like ADP, Workday, PeopleSoft, Ulti Pro

• Excellent organizational & time management skills
• Attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Ability to follow complex oral & written direction and excellent problem-solving skills
• Good verbal & written communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage & hours legislation

Preferred requirements:
• CPA or APA Certification or in progress
• Supported Multiple countries (US and Canadian)
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (VLOOKUP, Sum if, nested formulas, Macros, Power queries, etc.)
• Experience with ADP Global view as a processing services client a plus
