We are looking for a RegionalHuman Resources Manager who will join the HR team in our Marysville, OH manufacturing plant.




Scotts Miracle-Gro is looking for a Human Resource Manager to help support three of our Supply Chain manufacturing sites- Marysville, Orrville, and Shreve- all located in Ohio. If you were selected for this role, you would provide onsite support by leading investigations, employee related issues and answering day to day questions. You would work directly with our Plant Leaders and Business Unit Director. Process improvement is also critical as our business grows and continues to integrate and being able to partner with leadership and the business will be key. Everyday you will:



  • Provides associate relations services to associates in the form of facilitating open communication, resolving associate issues, and coaching.


  • Provides HR generalist support to supervisors and managers including coaching and guidance on associate relations issues, policy interpretation, performance management, problem solving, FMLA, ADA, Worker Compensation and leave of absence administration.


  • Lead investigations, Ethics Line complaints relating to Associate Relations issues and unemployment claims/hearings.


  • Responsible for Full life Cycle Recruitment for non-exempt positions and provide support for exempt positions as needed. This includes developing and executing a staffing strategy, creating requisitions, coordinating recruiting efforts, interviewing, working with managers to make final selections and job offers, and counseling hiring managers on the hiring process and philosophy.


  • Facilitate new hire orientation and manage all staffing efforts in partnership with Talent Acquisition.


  • HR Projects: participates on project teams and/or works independently on a variety of projects including the development of new policies, programs, performance management, succession planning, and training.


  • Coordinates associate involvement activities, plans associate appreciation events and coordinates community relations events.


  • Maintain employee HR files according to company and compliance guidelines.


  • Contribute to and execute on the HR strategy.


  • Drive a positive culture that creates an inspiring associate experience.

  • An experienced HR professional- ideally with 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist type role and a Bachelor's degree. Certifications are a plus as they are achieved based on training and experience.

  • Energized by high change environments and is comfortable with ambiguity.


  • A problem solver- using creative avenues to solve problems, demonstrating both breadth and depth; demonstrating strong judgment and proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.


  • Experienced with:




  • Supporting supply chain, manufacturing, and/or distribution sites and know that not every work environment or culture is the same.


  • A supply chain, manufacturing, and/or distribution environment. You must understand the priorities and experience of the front-line associate and can speak the language of the factory or warehouse floor. Safety, efficiency, employee relations and engagement are second nature as well as providing sound advice and counsel to front-line leaders.


  • A matrixed HR support model (centers of excellence - compensation, payroll, talent management, talent acquisition, shared services, etc.) Have worked closely with the HR leadership and corporate HR on the business' needs and support them by driving the implementation of compensation programs, benefits, talent management/acquisition and other needed programs.


  • Extensive Employee Relations experience/expertise (i.e. leading investigations from investigation to conclusion, coaching Leaders at all levels with regards to feedback/development, managing EEOC claims, leading conflict resolution)


  • Talent management / talent planning - upgrading talent through workforce planning and working with newer managers


  • Have supported front-line associates, managers, executives, etc.
