SUMMARY



Bering Global Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified General Maintenance Worker for GSA Federal Office Building in San Francisco. The General Maintenance Worker performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and Buildings Requiring practical skill and trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.


Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, Replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance, and some troubleshooting preferred


  • General maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as:
    • Painting
    • Carpentry
    • Plumbing
    • Masonry
    • Electrical Work
  • Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, lights
  • Use of plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings
  • Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Additional Building Centric Experience:
    • Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.
    • Repairs on registers and radiators.
    • Replacement of lamps, Ballasts and cleaning of light fixtures.
    • Remove and Replace Ceiling Tiles.
    • Minor Repairs on Furniture and Floors.
    • Maintaining and/or Replacing Door Hardware.
    • Repair of Floor Maintenance Equipment and Venetian Blinds.
    • Maintenance Painting in Equipment Rooms and other Building Facilities.
    • Replacement of Air Filters in the HVAC Equipment.
    • General Cleaning in Mechanical Spaces and Perimeter Induction Units.
    • Cleanup of Equipment in Engine Room and Shop.
    • Miscellaneous Handyman Work requiring the use of Hand Tools.
    • Inspect and Replace Fire Extinguishers when needed.
    • Cleaning of Air Vents and Roof Drains.
    • Cleaning Air Vents, Registers and Radiators.
    • Replacing Ballast and Light Bulbs.
    • Maintenance of Toilet Facilities, Excluding Energized Systems and Plumbing Systems.
    • Replacing Ceiling Tiles not Affecting Fire Sprinklers Systems and other Energized Systems.
    • Maintenance Painting in back of House Services Areas, Excluding Equipment Rooms.
    • Cleaning and Organizing of the Engineering Shop Areas.
    • Hanging Frame Objects not requiring the use of Power Tools other than Cordless Drill/Drivers.
    • Cleaning of Solar Panels.
    • Maintenance and Repairs of Landscaping Water Supply Piping and Systems.
    • Maintenance and Repairs of Drinking Fountains.
    • Maintenance and Repairs of Roof Drains and Downspouts.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.   • Two (2) years' experience as a general maintenance worker
  • High school diploma or equivalent

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Able to work in hot environments, either indoors or outside to perform duties.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work, and have basic hand tools. Must be able to obtain access to military installations.
