As a Windows Systems Engineer, you will build the infrastructure for our high traffic, high visibility services. You will provide operational support for critical services that enable connected experiences found across Meta. We constantly review our processes, automate wherever possible, and develop our own toolchains when necessary. Enterprise Windows Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
Build and maintain Windows servers and associated applications in a highly available, intuitive, scalable, and secure environment
Automate workflows and contribute to our significant PowerShell/DSC/Chef codebase
Leverage the scale and complexity of the larger Meta infrastructure to solve problems for IT's customers
Perform root cause analysis through multiple infrastructure layers and be the final escalation point for Windows related issues
Minimum Qualifications:
3+ years of systems engineering experience
3+ years of systems management/administration automation experience
3+ years experience working with monitoring and configuration management tools such as Chef and DSC
Proficient in a high-level language like PowerShell or Python
Experience managing highly distributed, Windows-based, production environments
Thorough understanding of Windows Server operating system internals
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, MS SQL, MS Exchange)
Advanced knowledge of configuration management systems (such as Chef, DSC or related systems)
