Position Purpose:

Lead the career services function for students and alumni for the graduate programs at the Geisel School of Medicine. Works closely with individual program leadership so that all of these activities align to promote and ensure the success of all students and alumni within each program. The Career Services Manager will exemplify a commitment to excellence, to diversity, and to serving the needs of a diverse population.


Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp:

Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience


Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:



  • Five years of professional work experience preferably in higher ed administration, student services or health-related field.

  • Experience working with diverse individuals

  • Ability to work independently and on a team.

  • Skilled at using Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint), the learning management platform Canvas, and the virtual meeting platform Zoom.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working with graduate students, with specific experience in career development, career counseling or corporate recruiting

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, organizational and project management skills.

  • Experience with Handshake, Slate or similar platforms.

  • Understanding and knowledge of the Medical school and PhD application process.

  • Regularly monitors the activities of alumni focusing on job placement and graduate school enrollment outcomes. Collects and organizes data for graduates related to how each program prepares them for post-graduate opportunities. Prepares reports for internal and external stakeholders to inform customers of career development process and results.

  • Works with schools and programs across Dartmouth's campus to collaborate and deliver programming as needed.
