Graymont is seeking a highly organized and self-directed individual to fill the position of Engineering technician. This is a remote position that can be based out of Utah, Washington State or Nevada.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Graymont is seeking a highly organized and self-directed individual to fill the position of Engineering Technician. As part of the Engineering support group, the Engineering Technician will work closely with project teams and plant leadership to provide technical support, develop operational improvements related to Lime, Limestone and solid fuel material handling and dust collection systems, support option analysis with preliminary designs and cost estimates.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general CAD drafting support, producing and updating process flow diagrams and equipment general layouts.
• Interface with and direct engineering consultants and construction contractors as required.
• Promote internal equipment standards, specifications, and best practices,
• Prepare class 4 and 5 estimates using Graymont's historical cost as required.
• Coordinate and carry out project specific surveys in the plants and facilities.
• Provide commissioning assistance and quality control surveys,
• Assist plants in identifying and scoping projects as required.
• Provide site supervision services on projects when required
• Work within our defined document management process to ensure document availability and accuracy.
• Frequent travel up to 50%.



QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in previous roles that demonstrates a strong commitment to health and safety related to the industry.
• Self-motivated, self-starter, curious, and willingness to learn.
• Two-year associates degree in science or in a related field
• Experience using AutoCAD, 3D rendering software such as Inventor, Revit, Recap, Navisworks, and a strong mechanical aptitude and high proficiency in design is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience designing material handling and sizing equipment will be an asset.
• Experience with project cost estimating will be an asset.
• Proven experience in a team-based environment.
• Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and demands

Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to interact with all company functions including Engineering, Production, and Maintenance
