Job Description



GPIis seeking a Senior Utility Coordinator to join our GPI Florida team.You will coordinate all facets of utility issues relating to assigned roadway projects with government agencies, municipalities, project owners, utility owners, designers, and construction teams to ensure all utilities are identified and proper accommodation plans are devised and communicated. This position reports to the Florida Utility Coordination Manager.

Responsibilities:



  • Act as a liaison between Utility Agency Owners (UAOs), designers, and government agencies

  • Perform records research, field reviews, and identify potential utility conflicts by reviewing plans

  • Determine the need for Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)

  • Support and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation

  • Support engineer of record in the development of utility conflict matrices

  • Conduct meetings with project stakeholders for conflict resolution

  • Develop utility agreements and utility relocation estimates

  • Develop and track utility work schedules

  • Determine the responsible agency for utility reimbursement

  • Records management, ability to organize and maintain design and project files, and providing documented QA/QC at each utility deliverable

  • Preparation and submittal of Utility Certification/Clear Packages in adherence to project schedule

  • Participate in constructability reviews


Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of FDOT utility coordination experience

  • Experience working with FDOT Utility Procedures Manual (UPM), and FDOT Utility Accommodation Manual (UAM)

  • Thorough understanding of bridge, roadway, and utility construction processes


Other Experience / Knowledge a plus, but not required:



  • Experience in OpenRoads/MicroStation

  • Experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D

  • Knowledge of FDOT Utility Work by Highway Contractor Plans Development




Requirements



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration

  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members

  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
