Position: Technical Forensic Investigator – Vice President, North America (Quincy, MA)
This position reports locally to the Director of Investigations in Quincy, MA. As part of a larger team, the position will provide technical support and administration to the Global Security computer forensics lab infrastructure as well as having responsible for traditional (ex: harassment, due diligence, fraud) and forensic investigations in support of incident response, workplace safety and asset protection. The candidate must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain strong relationships with key corporate functions such as GHR, Legal, Audit, Compliance, Global Cyber Security and IT support functions in support of Company initiatives and the various business functions.
Main Responsibilities:
As part of a team, conducts research, designs, develops, implements, and administers the Global Security cyber lab network systems / applications (Windows, Unix – domain controller, switches, firewalls, VPNs etc).
Provides computer forensics investigative support related to misconduct (policy violations) and fraud / illegal conduct-related investigations. Supplements the Global Cyber Security (GCS) team in respect to technical investigations. Consolidates investigative information and documentation collected to draw incident-related conclusions for risk remediation and containment purposes as well as case documentation.
Assist with the vulnerability assessment and patching of Global Security lab systems.
Assist in the prevention of acts that may be deemed detrimental to the best interests of State Street and its employees, shareholders, and customers.
Document case information in the Global Security case management system.
Monitor the daily health of the forensics lab environment including upgrades to software and equipment, identification of new technology advancements and identification of areas requiring improvement.
Apply NIST standards when evaluating the Global Security lab infrastructure and ensure compliance or documentation of known non-compliance.
Facilitate eDiscovery data gathering and record keeping and act as the Global Security liaison with counsel (internal and external).
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of internal investigative procedures and processes.
Exercise discretion, judgment and confidentiality related to the handling and use of proprietary information, corporate systems and Internet resources.
Posses the ability to distil large amounts of investigative information in to concise, actionable and relevant conclusions for use by management.
Identify and report all risk and compliance issues, breaches, and suspicious activities.
Develop and maintain law enforcement contacts including accurate and timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with FinCEN.
Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Security / Information Assurance (or equivalent)
Minimum 5 -10 years of computer forensics / IT experience with major corporation, law enforcement, or military
