This position is responsible for the development and support of software to drive continued growth in business systems at Genesis. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, and an expert at software development with a desire to contribute to a growing organization. The role will work within our Technology team and collaborate with outside partners and internal terms to support existing software systems and develop new functionality.
Responsibilities:
Build an in-depth understanding of the Genesis organization, current software environment, and software development objectives.
Support ongoing maintenance and functional improvements in existing software, including ERP system.
Develop and test new software functionality to deliver project objectives.
Monitor quality and performance of primary software applications.
Ability to create process documentation to support training and drive adoption of new software functionality.
Manage progress and communicate status of projects to manager and other team members.
Recommend opportunities to enhance functionality, stability, and usability of existing software, improving performance, ease of use, and security.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Programming, Information Systems, or related field.
Knowledge and experience:
Minimum of 3 years of software development experience.
Working technical knowledge of programming languages, including Java.
Experience developing in Eclipse desktop IDE.
Proficient at analyzing and optimizing execution plans in MySQL or MariaDB.
Experience working with enterprise applications.
Familiarity with the Agile development process.
Ability to analyze, understand and document existing source code.
