POSITION PURPOSE:

We are seeking a Refrigeration Technician to perform PSM / RMP inspections of Several Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, and to ensure the Documentation on Inspections are in compliance with IIAR, ASHRE, ASME, EPA, OSHA, and applicable State and Local Codes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Thoroughly familiar with all specific components and operations.


• Understand the relationship between the temperature and pressure of Ammonia.


• Aware of the relationship between the various components in the system.


• Understand the operation and function of the component.


• Manage and maintain PSM/RMP


• Responsibilities under the emergency response plan.


• Safe work practices in use at the UNFI facility (Lock-out, Confined Space entry, Hot-Work permits, Line and Vessel opening, LMCE, Fire Extinguisher training, Hazwhopper, and Emergency Evacuation.


• Utilize computer system to monitor or control the Ammonia refrigeration System and related controls.


• Train and develop a refrigeration team to operate and maintenance of the ammonia refrigeration system.


• Assist in the Capital planning process to maintain a safe and efficient Ammonia refrigeration System.

Vocational/ or Technical School

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Minimum of 3-5 years? experience with Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration Systems.


• Must have experience in conducting Refrigeration Inspections, Calibrations, and PLC Programs to maintain the PSM / RMP Documentation that is mandated by the Local CUPA of Yolo County and the Federal EPA.


• Managed and maintained PSM/ RMP

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:

 

• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.


• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.


• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.


• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.


• Ability to operate work related equipment


• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
