We are seeking a driven professional with relationship management and client service skills to join as a Client Manager on our Retail and Subadvisory Client Advisory team.

This role will be based in the Newark, NJ office. The focus of the position will be to support Senior Client Managers in the service of PGIM Fixed Income’s Retail and Subadvisory relationships. The main objectives in this role are to retain and support the growth of client assets and to ensure the highest level of client satisfaction such that clients would recommend the firm to others.  The successful candidate will be able to appropriately balance the delicate task of being a strong advocate on behalf of the client while ensuring that the company’s interests are also met.

Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to):


  • Work closely with senior client managers to provide high quality service to our financial intermediary clients, while developing a deep understanding of fixed income strategies and client mandates.

  • Reactively service certain client segments independently by responding to ad-hoc requests and serving as a liaison to keep all parties up to date on all important client discussions.

  • Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to proactively service those relationships on an ongoing basis.

  • Continuously develop an understanding and gain exposure to nuances of clients, guideline sensitives, fixed income strategies, and the markets.

  • Analyze client requests and identify and implement solutions by working with necessary internal and external parties. Client requests may be coming directly from clients or other client managers.

  • Ensure client deadlines are met.

  • Use automation and systems to quickly and accurately complete client requests.

  • Serve as a back up to senior client managers who are traveling by receiving client requests and working with other client managers to validate and put into production.

  • Partner with other team members to ensure ad-hoc data requests are completed timely and accurately.

  • Ensure resources and time on client requests are prioritized as appropriate given client tier.

  • Raise unresolved issues to senior team members and work with management on problem resolution.

  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications


  • BA/BS degree (MBA/CFA candidate a plus).

  • 6+ years of asset management experience with client facing functions.

  • Familiarity with capital markets, with goal of acquiring a deep understanding of fixed income securities and markets.

  • A demonstrated understanding of the retail landscape.

  • Holds or is willing to obtain Series 7 license.

  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Experienced user of Sales Force CRM systems and Blackrock Aladdin a plus.

  • Ability to identify and communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.

  • Relationship builder with the ability and confidence to establish connections and interact with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.

  • Strong desire to develop diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven ability to improve established processes and leverage technology.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional ethics and working environment.

  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Works well under pressure and meets scheduled deliverable dates.

  • Strives to learn, analyze, and implement best business practices developed within the marketplace.

  • Team player with high energy and a positive attitude to model our corporate cultural values.

  • Strong customer focus ethos: ability to ensure key clients are identified and have the appropriate level of attention.
