What you will do:

We would like you to manage a team of highly technical Chiller Domain Experts who provide support for Chiller PTS, and the Field organizations!  This Team works with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain to drive continuous improvement of products and processes to improve the performance and/or reliability of chiller products. The Team serves as champions for service with respect to product reliability, serviceability, and maintainability. Overseas the aftermarket product offerings and provides tactical support to high transparency projects in the field when problems occur.  The Team also is responsible to provide and approve all service literature content for these chillers.

How you will do it:


  • Leads SME team for Chiller Product Technical Support Team including performance evaluations and salary planning.  Provide strategic direction regarding methods of communications to the field for service literature and media.  Prioritize activities for Team members.

  • NPI - Participates on product development teams with emphasis on DFMEA’s, design reviews, reliability test plans, design for manufacturing and helping to coordinate and follow up on field testing. Review and approve assigned work you're doing including DFMEAs, PTPRs, and Serviceability.  Review and approve phase gate reviews representing Sophisticated Quality.

  • Quality - Analyze warranty data to drive quality improvements in design, manufacturing, and field support to meet corporate annual commitments.  Using Continuous Improvement tools help the supplier's organization to meet JCI quality requirements. Improvements will be based on facts and data.

  • Leads special projects and 8D Champion problem solving multi-functional Teams to identify root cause and corrective actions for resolution of customer issues. Must be proactive, stepping in to take the lead, coordinating and advising actions, to resolve issues as the situation may require.

  • Present to senior leadership ongoing customer issues and technical resolution programs for chiller products

  • Champion for product reliability both in and out of warranty, providing technical recommendations into new product development within the product development process acting as voice of the customer for service.

  • Provides product failure analysis by specifying tests required to identify root causes.  Analyze test results to provide corrective measures to the field. 

  • Provides product development support by screening and coordinating field trial plans and providing feedback to product development teams. 

  • Leads problem resolution for critical customer issues on a case-by-case basis.

  • Performs customer technical presentations and training, assists with customer complaint resolution.

  • Works closely with Product Management and Engineering leads to support product development and continuous improvements.

  • Coordinates with aftermarket parts to ensure that there is a reliable and effective supply chain for parts that are no longer in current production. Liaise with parts hub and engineering to overcome tactical instances where unanticipated customer issues arise on legacy parts to find a practical solution.

What we look for:


  • BS in mechanical engineering or other engineering field is required.

  • Must have 15 years’ experience in the HVAC industry, ideally specific to Chillers, with at least five years of management experience.   

  • Travel requirement of 10 to 20%.
