Huntsman Advance Materials division is seeking a group leader for the materials and engineering group. This position will support its research and development activities on a regional and global basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving technical efforts and developments in line with business strategy. The ideal candidate should be very familiar with engineering and manufacturing processes associated with the various polymer chemistries used aerospace and defense.
As the Synthesis Team Lead, you will:
Primary focus will be to collaborate directly with the application and formulation teams help translate the material needs into novel chemistry solutions providing Huntsman with state of art materials for our customers
Work closely with our manufacturing and process engineering teams to ensure new technology solutions are successfully integrated into production operations
Maintain an open communication with Research & Development centers in Europe and other regions to ensure an open flow of information and exchange of technology
Establish a culture of accountability within the group whereby members of the technical team take responsibility for tasks assigned and drive them to end results
Excellent communication/presentation skills including exceptional persuasive writing skills to craft a clear story
Skills and experiences required:
Bachelor or Master's degree in chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Required: 3-5 years industrial research experience in synthesis of epoxies, bismaleimides and amine products for Industrial application
Strong skill in business writing - both technical and non-technical
Strong computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
Strong synthetic chemistry knowledge
U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain required Export Authorization
Preferred skills and experiences:
Manufacturing of thermoset and thermoplastics desired
PhD Preferred, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering
