Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an entry level Scientist or Geologist to join our Arcadis Resilience Environment Team. This position will be based out of our Melville, NY office. This entry-level, full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, strict adherence to health and safety procedures, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently and be capable of working as a productive member of a high-performance team. Responsibilities will include a combination of field and office-related tasks and may include travel.

Role accountabilities:

Field activities may include the following:

• Field work such as: environmental groundwater, soil, and vapor sampling; environmental drilling, air monitoring, and excavation oversight.

•Subcontractor and/or Health and Safety oversight.

Office responsibilities may include the following:

•Data management (compilation, manipulation, and evaluation of data)

•Health and Safety reporting

•Assisting with writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda

•Coordinating work schedules with subcontractors

•Developing figures/template reports and data QA/QC

•Boring log production

Candidates must have a good driving record and be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing fieldwork, including lifting heavy equipment and working in a standing position for extended periods of time.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, or related discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

•Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR trainings

•Environmental sampling and/or consulting experience

•2 years of environmental experience
