Position Summary




Performs a variety of manufacturing assignments related to medical device extrusion and packaging in the extrusion department. Position is responsible for extrusion quality, production and on-time delivery to cleanroom; Centerless grinding and R&D departments. Be able to execute (under engineering supervision) validations/qualifications of processes and machinery.




Principal Responsibilities




• Provides hands-on processing support to all production, QA and engineering functions related to the extrusion department.
• Initiates, documents, and completes extrusion traceability records.
• Applies appropriate quality procedures and product documentation to production builds and monitors each for quality conformance.
• Performs quality checks and related production duties with minimal supervision.
• Has a strong understanding of TFX documentation system as it applies to manufacturing.
• Perform adjustments to extruders in order to ensure dimensional conformance to product documentation with minimal supervision.
• Participate and lead cost improvement activities and initiatives within department.
• Participate in cross-functional Value Stream meetings and projects.
• Is aware of general equipment hazards and follows and utilizes all applicable safety standards.
• Aware of the first aid supplies location.
• Aware of all emergency procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Keeps work area clean.
• Performs other duties as assigned.




Education / Experience Requirements




• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution, preferred.
• A minimum 3 years of machine set up, troubleshooting, and operation experience required. Extrusion machine experience preferred.
• Catheter related Medical Device Manufacturing experience, preferred.




Specialized Skills / Other Requirements




• Prior training and experience in GMP/GDP.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software is required: including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint.
• This position requires the employee to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Experience with laser mic, tool scope, and other metrology equipment.
• Experience with relevant Preventative Maintenance activities.
• Preferred background/training in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools.
