VCA CAVES is seeking a veterinary technician assistant to join our busy, 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital. This is an overnight position.
You will be supporting our Doctor and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. You will enjoy exposure to a diverse and stimulating caseload. As a member of the VCA family, your passion for medicine and compassion for pets and people is matched with a commitment to your professional growth. Day to day responsibilities of the veterinary technician assistant include:
feeding and caring for dogs and cats, walking dogs, bathing dogs, restraint and handling of dogs and cats for minor procedures, cleaning cages, cleaning and maintaining the hospital premises, cleaning hospital instruments and equipment, restocking supplies, setting up supplies for basic procedures and assisting our doctors and technicians when necessary.
Candidates for this position must be organized, flexible, ability to work independently in addition to being a team player. We manage high caseloads in a fast-paced environment so it is also important that the candidate be able to work efficiently in times of stress.
Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and some holidays.
