The Mining Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact with mine management for assigned mines. Develops annual budget and KPI’s for each assigned account and manages the business to achieve the projected targets. Works with the sales department to ensure that sales opportunities are captured and managed. Works with the service department, parts department, and PSSR’s to capture all support opportunities. This position will work with the mine management to schedule and manage rebuilds to ensure that resources are in place for the rebuilds and to communicate with the mine on the rebuild status. Ensures that accounting issues are addressed in a timely and professional manner.


Pay Range: $66,000.00 - $91,000.00 Annually
Salary is dependent on education and experience.
Essential Functions:

  • Develops annual budget and KPI plan

  • Works with the Mining Business Manager to monitor and develop reports based on this plan

  • Develops rebuild schedule at each of his assigned accounts

  • Tracks the progress of rebuilds to ensure that parts and service personnel are available to complete the scheduled rebuilds on time and on budget

  • Communicates with the mine to obtain change orders as required during the rebuild process

  • Works with service branches and rebuild facilities related to the assigned accounts to quote rebuilds

  • Schedules delivery of parts and services as required to perform rebuilds as quoted

  • Communicates with Branch Manager’s the need for parts and labor services during the year

  • Communicates with Caterpillar personnel as required

  • Works with the Mining Sales group to provide equipment quotes as requested by the mine

  • Communicates with the sales group when a mine is looking for additional equipment

  • Tracks all sales and is the first point of contact for delivery and commissioning task

  • Works with the PSSR assigned to each account to request repair and parts quotes for all CAT equipment currently at a mine as well as all New CAT equipment that is delivered

  • Works with accounting and credit to insure that issues are handled in a timely manner and that all accounts are kept current

  • Meets with management at assigned mines on a regular basis and develops a business relationship with operational management, procurement management, and corporate management for each assigned account. Each of these groups should feel free to contact the account manager whenever issues arise that affect the mine’s operation

  • Acts as lead for Wagner Equipment’s team during regular meetings with each mines’ management and ensures that appropriate personnel from Wagner are included in these meetings

  • Identifies all sales opportunities and works with the mining sales rep to capture these sales

  • Involves the sales and marketing departments with activities at the mine to develop the relationship between the mine and Wagner Equipment Co.

  • Ensures that the mine is aware and informed about all of the products and services that Wagner Equipment Co. can provide

  • Identifies all parts and service opportunities. Works with the PSSR and Branch manager to capture these opportunities

  • Works with mine personnel to implement efforts that support achieving availability and production targets

  • Works with Caterpillar to identify and execute Continuous Improvement projects for the mine site

  • Works with Caterpillar and mine personnel to identify technology needs and implement technology at the mine site

  • Promotes Wagner’s businesses and products as a single supply source. Works with each of Wagner’s product groups as opportunities are identified to provide a solution that meets the customers’ needs

  • Understands each accounts production methods and needs

  • Maintains familiarity with the products offered by Wagner to discuss their application with an account

  • Recognizes when additional resources should be brought in to assist in the selection and recommendation of specific products

  • Helps manage and navigate warranty and goodwill transactions

  • Provides recommendations to the customer on maintenance practices that support extended component life and minimizes the cost per ton of the Caterpillar equipment on site

  • May supervise on-site parts employees at sites that do not have a branch manager for the site and have on site parts operations run by Wagner Equipment Co.

  • All other duties as assigned by manager


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Assigns work orders to technicians as appropriate

  • Provides input to the field service manager on employee performance and provides recommendations on employee appraisal and training needs

  • Reports to the field manager any rework or non-productive activity on the part of technicians that occurs in the field operation


Competencies:



  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills

  • Safety & Product Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Basic knowledge of ET / SIS / SIS Web / STW

  • Intermediate knowledge of DBS

  • Intermediate knowledge of CRM/Sales Link

Physical Demands:



  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing

  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing but may require occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds


Travel Requirements:



  • 25-50%


Required Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience

  • 3-5 years sales experience

  • 5+ years customer service experience

  • 5+ years machine/service maintenance experience
