Position Overview

Responsible for the safety, operations, scheduling, training, quality, and productivity of multiple field forepersons personnel and equipment within United Companies. Ensure efficient production while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of APC Companies and CRH.

WAGE RANGE: $70,000 to $85,000 dependent on experience.

Bonus, up to, 15%

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Direct and coordinate the activities of the multiple field forepersons including production, inventory management, mobilization, quality, equipment maintenance, and record keeping.

  • Ensure that all operations are in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, MSHA, etc.

  • Monitor construction operational performance against budget, performance, target setting, and quality standards.

  • Review civil construction plans and develop production plans.

  • Review Operations on a regular basis for safety compliance.

  • Lead construction crews in safety best practices and implementation of new or changing production and maintenance procedures, purchasing guidelines, and technical training.

  • Implement and manage the equipment and construction production maintenance best practices, with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and equipment utilization.

  • Manage the personnel via department forepersons in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable employment laws. This includes training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding employees, disciplining employees, long term personnel development and succession planning, as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations required.

Work Requirements


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft suite of tools including Excel, Word and Outlook, and database software. Must be able to utilize internet and communicate effectively.

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.

  • Pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check will be required.

  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

  • Standard state-issued driver's license

Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Demonstrated ability to train, motive and lead employees.

  • Basic knowledge of labor and employment laws.

  • Demonstrate basic mathematical skills as well as the ability to interpret and compute basic formulas.

  • Willingness and ability to work in and adapt to changes in circumstances, tasks, customer needs and other conditions that may affect their daily responsibilities.

  • Ability to cope well in stressful environments and communicate professionally.

  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to meeting the needs and expectations of our external customers.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.

  • Ability to facilitate change management and influence positive responses.

  • Able to communicate with others by email, telephone and in person.

  • Able to utilize a computer for word processing, email communication, and preparation of documents and presentations.

  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to frequently walk and sit as well as occasionally required to stand and reach.

  • Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ladders, inclined walkways, and access elevated platforms .

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
