Position Brand Description:
The primary role of this position is to manage the site’s Title V air permit. This includes all reporting, permit applications, program management, etc. The position is also a consultant on other environmental aspects (e.g. Solid and Hazardous Waste (Resource Conservation Recovery Act- RCRA, waste water, water, SPCC, land application, environmental reporting, etc.) It is expected that this person stays up‑to‑date with current and upcoming IDEM & EPA regulations and technical advances, managing the site’s compliance with the Elanco environmental standards and the corporate environmental objectives. The role includes completing detailed engineering emission calculations and troubleshoot pollution control equipment.
Basic Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of relevant HSE work experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred), science, environmental management, HSE or related field
Title V experience
Regulatory knowledge and competency with respect to Indiana environmental regulations
Ability to develop credibility and to influence the work of others without having positional authority
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects in a timely manner

Engineering or other technical skills that enable the person to conduct detailed emission calculations using stoichiometry, mass balance, and/or other engineering methods/modelling.
Ability to use Aspen modelling.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant HSE work experience, with specific Title V air permit experience.
Regulatory knowledge and competency with respect to Indiana regulations
Knowledge of the Animal Health industry
Previous experience in a production environment and regulatory field experience is preferred

Promote a Lean Manufacturing Culture
Optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of Environmental stewardship at Clinton by using coaching and consulting in order to integrate good environmental stewardship into the business. Primary responsibility will be to provide Plan/Do/Check/Act (PDCA) mindset around the environmental compliance of the site. Plan will be to develop new or modified requirements into the compliance systems, Do will be to submit and manage air permit applications, Checking will be doing assessments, Acting is leading the development of the appropriate standard work documents needed for compliance.
Environmental Technical Resource
Has deep knowledge of the Title V air permit programs including the ability to complete engineering calculations.
Understanding of the operation of pollution control equipment (baghouses, carbon adsorbers, cyclones, etc.) and ability to troubleshoot issues.
Has technical knowledge of the sciences, laws and regulations controlling air quality program, solid and hazardous waste management, drinking water and/or wastewater management. Proactive sharing of this knowledge is to be accomplished through training, engagement in site projects, completing reports and developing tools, with minimal direction and/or supervision.
Develop the air program such that change/event environmental impact investigations and leveling is adequately completed.
Manage multiple projects and support/lead cross-functional teams supporting modeling, data trend studies, design, construction, and environmental master planning.
Represent Clinton Site
Function as the key representative of this site during IDEM and EPA inspections, agency negotiations, and correspondence for assigned aspects. It is expected that this person develops a working rapport with agency personnel and write the necessary permit applications.
Represent the Clinton site's needs through interaction with Global Environmental and Legal.
Review regulatory reports
Provide notification to agencies following permit events as necessary.
Develop a program such that the reporting of internal data is adequately executed.
Compliance Record Keeping
For air programs, ensures that the required documents are placed in records retention and that all procedures, guidance documents, training courses are maintained per the document control management system.
Ensure documents are easily retrievable from the EQ Library, secured file server, or corporate records retention.
