Job Description
Position Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reports To: Director, Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Preferred Location: Monterey, CA Headquarters
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Responsibilities
Maintain HR policies and procedures; collaborate with managers to ensure policies are updated according to department specifications; obtain executive signatures on all new/revised policies.
Deliver new-hire orientation via video camera; create and distribute job aides; produce instructional videos; train employees on relevant HR subjects as needed.
Prepare separation agreements and meet with terminated employees to explain the separation process; process verification of employment, unemployment claims, ADA and religious accommodations, and tuition reimbursement requests.
Research and process client requests such as subpoenas, interpreter signatures and attestations; work with legal counsel as needed; collect documents for legal cases upon request.
Publish relevant announcements in Workday and other electronic means; respond to emails and support requests (SRs) to address HR inquiries; act as the main point of contact for initial HR inquires.
Process invoices accurately and in timely manner; organize, maintain and distribute electronic file-sharing system; use and administer DocuSign.
Plan, organize and schedule corporate events such as the flu clinic, blood drives, etc.; represent HR in hosting onsite events; administer the office temperature screening device; conduct OSHA safety walks on premises; extract and purge all term files to be sent to offsite storage unit.
Assist in maintaining and testing relevant HCM functionality; administer the Worker Opportunity Tax Credit program; partner with colleagues, other departments for continuous process improvement.
Support and cross train with other internal teams as needed such as benefits, leave of absence and recruiting as needed; participate in team meetings.
Support LLS' Quality Management System (QMS) to continually improve the Division's processes, procedures and services; and thereby increase efficiency, productivity, effectiveness and customer satisfaction.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Position is partially remote/partially onsite.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years minimum experience in Human Resources.
Knowledge of HR labor laws, compliance and regulations.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or equivalent preferred.
Experience with Workday or other HRIS databases preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, HCM system.
Critical thinker, self-starter and independent problem solver who self-initiates research to proactively deliver solutions.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Exercises sound judgment, problem-solving skills, process improvement-minded.
Customer-focused, with high level of professionalism and discretion.
Typing proficiency of 40+ WPM.
