The Enterprise Network Architect is primarily responsible for the design, alteration, and security of all network and unified communications infrastructure across the enterprise. Interfacing at the business level as well as with the technical side to produce the blueprint for a complex, large-scale, integrated network and voice infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage our most prominent network products, including hardwired and wireless networks, virtual private networks, firewalls, telephony, research networks, and more.
Participates in the development or evolution of the enterprise architecture program and functions including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio, and technical architecture.
Leads collaborative and outreach efforts to architect business networking infrastructure (e.g. switching, routing, data center networking, firewalls, WiFi, VOIP) that serves the widely diverse campus needs of internal departments.
Identifies and plans for the development of shared IT infrastructure and middleware. Provides strategic consultation to business stakeholders to integrate enterprise architecture principles and practices with business and IT decision making
Closely work with all IT and Development operations team to continuously improve our network performance, system resiliency and customer experience.
Implement projects, systems, and issues of medium to high complexity surrounding network planning, configuration and optimization including keeping disaster recovery plans up-to-date, as required, and configuring the network to support recovery objectives to ensure business continuity
Communicate with operational support teams as required
Schedule and coordinate corrective and routine maintenance on critical network, Disaster Recovery and voice systems with appropriate vendors, customers, and support organizations.
Perform network risk assessments, implement tech solutions, and assist with internal or external network security audits, Disaster Recovery testing, and maintenance
Qualifications / Skill Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Development
10+ years of experience in IT or relevant related businesses and including 3+ years' experience as an Architect or Technical Lead.
Skills to communicate with individuals in both a technical and non-technical capacity
Cisco Certifications
Ability to develop solution architecture designs.
Knowledge of common network infrastructure components
Proficiency in English language (reading, writing, verbal)
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively to work on projects simultaneously
Ability to work both independently and with others in an open space environment, sedentary environment
Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills
