Job Summary:

The qualified candidate will train all skilled positions that are new hires or job transfers to ensure accurate machinery operation.

Job Duties:
•Train all skilled positions, both new hires and job transfers
•Work with Packaging Manager to meet customer specifications with new and existing packaging
•Attend training on new equipment as needed (limited travel)
•Set up all equipment for a particular product run
•Operate and make adjustments as necessary to insure packaging and labeling meet quality specifications
•Inspect packages to insure equipment is operating correctly
•Stage materials as required for a quick change over in production
•Complete and assemble all documentation required for recording the production process
•Maintain the work area in an organized manner
•Perform all other duties as assigned
•Must be able to perform mandatory overtime as necessary

Job Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Must be 18 years of age
•A minimum of 2 to 5 years experience operating various machinery in the bakery (horizontal wrappers, box makers, cartoners, and other mechanical equipment which is used for packaging, labeling, and sealing of finished products)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
•Must have an excellent knowledge of every piece of equipment in the bakery
•Proficient in reading and writing in English in order to understand equipment instructions and safety manuals and also to record all data associated with equipment operations
•Must be knowledgeable in GMP's and the HACCP program
•Sufficient math skills to calculate quantities of material required for orders being run
•Good organizational and communication skills in order to prioritize work and communicate changes to line workers
•Must have the ability to handle small tools
•Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted
•Must display great attention to detail
