Job Description:

The AVP, Human Resources is the HR Business Partner for various Chubb global functional groups including Finance and various others.  This position provides HR leadership and guidance to the functional leaders and their teams globally.


  • Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to various Chubb senior leaders while balancing the role of an employee advocate

  • Drive the alignment of business objectives with leveraging the employee population for a positive and inclusive employee experience

  • Utilize current business priorities and leverage that information in HR planning and prioritization efforts and execute tactical plans to address deliver results in these key areas

  • Perform data analytics to proactively provide recommendations and insight to leaders in support of employee experience and business results

  • Understand all aspects of the business to enhance the ability to effectively attract, retain and upskill necessary talent in support of the organization’s strategic objectives

  • Lead talent management initiatives: succession planning, talent assessment, internal mobility support, develop and support individual development plans, and effective performance evaluation calibrations and communication

  • Serve as the liaison and primary support between business leadership and the HR Centers of Excellence: talent management, talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, benefits, and HR operations

  • Address various employee relations topics, including complex investigations, performance management issues, and consult with Legal as appropriate

  • Manage staff of 1 HR professional: Coach direct report around expectations of HR and the HR competency model and identify development priorities to enhance impact and effectiveness and support their growth

• The successful candidate will be a solution-oriented critical thinker who is both proactive and responsive and has a passion for excellence

• The AVP, HR Business Partner must be highly credible, approachable, and experienced at providing advice and counsel to both senior managers and employees

• The AVP, HR Business Partner is expected to be a trusted advisor to management and an employee advocate and have the experience and judgment to balance the needs of stakeholders

Strongly Preferred Requirements:


  • 5+ years in an HRBP role with a proven track record of successfully serving as a trusted HR partner in a fast- paced matrixed environment

  • Prior HRBP experience in supporting finance and accounting functions is a strong plus

  • Previous practical experience in Finance and/or Accounting would be a distinguishing capability
