At Shipt, we are transforming the grocery shopping experience and giving time back to consumers. Shipt shoppers handpick fresh groceries and household essentials, then deliver them to your door in as little as one hour.

What You’ll Do

The Creative Strategist is responsible for designing creative briefs that transform marketing strategies into immersive experiences that help our audience connect more deeply with the brand. Your expertise in uncovering and providing unique and unexpected insights informed by customers (both existing and prospective), cultural and business research, and trends will fuel big ideas and innovation. You will simplify complex problems into clear, actionable strategies while balancing business needs, brand ethos, and culture.You will inspire creativity, motivate behavior and guide the creative process to ensure all deliverables are grounded in the needs and wants of the guest. Reporting to the Senior Strategist, Content , you will help build national and seasonal campaign strategies. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of creative brief writing, leading strategic initiatives, effective communication, and pushing creative thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Strategy


  • Work with senior business and creative leaders to define and develop current and future campaigns through a content lens.


  • Dive deep into researching culture, technology, and business to distill insights that will drive media product innovation. 


  • Facilitate strategic and creative workshops with cross-functional teams in the development of creative product, campaigns and content strategies.


  • Collaborate with creative leaders in the manifestation and articulation of innovative ideas through presentations of creative strategies, proof of concept, prototypes and well-articulated, persuasive narratives.


  • Champion and influence the development of ideas that reinforce the values of the Shipt brand.


  • Inspire the team to create game-changing ideas and work that shape the future of advertising.


  • Lead projects end-to-end — insights, strategy, concept, executions, pitch, production.


  • Lead brand and business strategy discussions to uncover business needs and creative opportunities.


  • Uncover brand and consumer insights to inform creative direction and help the businesses connect with people in meaningful ways.


  • Be a thought leader on how mobile technology is fundamentally changing consumer behavior and brand marketing.


  • Display a passion for understanding people and desire to uncover new consumer behavior across various industries and platforms.


 

Insights & Reporting


  • Identify customer and competitor insights to distill Shipt’s strategy to help define our go-forward path on key initiatives


  • Leverage internal data, partner insights, current trends, and the competitive landscape to make data-based recommendations Provide monthly, quarterly and campaign-based metrics reporting 


  • Continuously assess and optimize marketing spend against key metrics to ensure profitable growth of the channel


  • Consistently analyze internal processes to make our creative team more efficient and progressive


  • Support preparation of internal and external executive communications and presentations


Cross-Functional Partnership


  • Create, update, and distribute creative briefs to the internal creative team 


  • Identify opportunities and recommend strategies to increase quality & quantity of earned, paid and owned content


  • Lead cross-functional meetings and drive alignment amongst participants


  • Liaise between growth marketing, integrated marketing, content marketing, communications, and product teams to develop creative concepts for evergreen and seasonal campaigns 


  • Oversee and continuously evolve creative initiatives to maximize effectiveness for new TOF campaigns & ongoing evergreen content for both earned & paid efforts


  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support all relevant initiatives, requests & content needs


  • Communicate with senior partners across brand and agency to understand their business goals


  • Work closely with external agency partners 


  • Manage additional duties as needed


Qualifications


  • Four-year college degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years experience in brand strategy, creative strategy, or marketing planning

  • Work experience at a brand, design, advertising, or digital agency or at a technology company doing product development and original content creation

  • Strong strategic thinker with experience synthesizing information to generate actionable insights

  • Ability to author clear, concise, and inspiring creative briefs

  • Demonstrated systems thinking and design experience

  • Familiarity with design research or behavioral science principles

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong organization and presentation skills

  • Ability to facilitate and clarify project expectations, objectives and deliverables

  • Ability to direct multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated systems thinking and design experience and customer journey

  • Ability to direct multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (esp Google Slides and Google Sheets)
