As a Quality Engineer with Manitowoc Cranes you will be responsible as a Quality leader in a designated focus factory or function.  You will be responsible for daily tactical issues related to quality issues in functional area, mentor/supervise Quality Specialists to achieve continuous improvement in assigned areas and lead and conduct process improvement efforts as an individual and through teams to complete initiatives.

This position reports to the Quality Manager and is located in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review metrical performance of manufacturing system to determine top issues needing resolution          


• Design, implement, validate, and report on systems that improve the metrical performance of the plant as issues are resolved         


• Act as primary quality resource and exhibit leadership for the Management Team with respect to quality policies and standards  


• Manage (internal and external) customer and supplier relations, expectations, and needs             


• Provide direction and support to hourly employees         


• Lead meetings and communications for Quality data and metrics ensuring owners are assigned and timely responses are provided


• Assignments as required              

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with less than 1-year experience in quality or a High School diploma with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in quality and manufacturing required.                


• Must be familiar with ISO, Six Sigma, Kaizen, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.


• Prior experience in supervision, mentoring, team lead in a quality role a strong plus.


• Knowledge of Deming, Juran, Taguchi desired.


• Must be knowledgeable/proficient in use of statistical software for analysis of processes and products.


• Must have good analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 


• Good communication skills and the ability to relay QA data and information in a clear and understandable manor essential.


• Working knowledge of production planning and control functions preferred.


• Must have good Quality Ethics.                                                 


• Needs to be able to lift up to 25 lbs.  Must be able and willing to use required PPE.


• Knowledgeable/proficient in the use of business application software and typical Microsoft Office apps. 


• Has solid planning, leadership and organizational skills.


• Must be able to read prints, specifications and schematics.


• Knowledge and ability to use various quality measuring devices and tools used in the manufacturing industry.
