Senior Engineer – VMware

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Involves in implementing, upgrading/migrating, and maintaining VMware hypervisor infrastructure.


• Provide technical hands-on support for the VMware platform.


• Handles standard VMware engineer duties and recommends, innovative and automated approaches wherever possible for infrastructure tasks.


• Work with stakeholders and customers to understand ESXi host utilization, lifecycle, protection requirements and develop effective workable solutions and processes.


• Lead the triage and resolution of escalated, complex incidents, problems, or capacity concerns.


• Requires support out of office hours during emergencies and routine maintenance


• Occasional travel may also be required.

Qualification, Skills & Experience:

• 6+ years prior experience in a VMware support position


• 4+ years prior experience as a VMware subject matter expertise


• Solid industry experience in IT infrastructure architecture and design patterns


• Extensive hands-on experience in designing & managing VMware infrastructure (including underlying HPE and Dell hardware, including VxRail, utilizing vSphere Standard, vSphere Enterprise Plus, vCloud Suite Advanced, vSAN Advanced, vCenter, versions 5.5 – 7.0)


• Good knowledge of Windows and Linux server platforms.


• Basic understanding of storage and network technologies


• Good understanding of ITIL processes and tools


• GxP skills and training required


• Should be fluent in English

Good to Have:

• ITIL V3 certification


• VMware Certified (VCP or above)
