Coral, a CRH Company, is hiring machine operators to work in our Edging Department, for the glass division of the company. This role is perfect for someone who is mechanically inclined and has experience operating fabrication machinery used in production environments. 

 

This position works on day shifts, Monday-Friday.  On occasion, weekend work or overtime may be scheduled.

Job Summary

This position involves the operation of an Edging Machine to grind or polish annealed glass. Operator tracks, locates, and records edger production on schedules provided by lead employee. Communicate production demands with operators on each shift.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings, process work orders by due dates provided


• Work with a partner to properly and safely load and unload glass from machine (this may also involve operating an overhead crane to assist with lifting heavy pieces of glass)


• Calibrate each machine at required intervals


• Complete daily worksheets and forms, calculate necessary measurements and inspect work


• Inspect all glass for defects such as chips, bubbles, scratches, blown holes, proper edge work, etc.


• Ensure the machines and tools are in good working order, perform daily cleaning and light maintenance on machinery/tools

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

To be considered for a fabrication position, the following conditions must be met:

• Must have at least one year of experience operating machinery used in production/manufacturing environments


• Must be able to operate a computer for entering data


• Must be able to read and perform calculations and measurements with numbers, fractions and decimals


• Must be detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
