Job Summary


Reporting to the Faculty Associate Dean, Extended Studies, the Senior Analyst for Programs and Operations provides operational expertise and leadership to Engineering Extended Studies (EES) and to the College of Engineering as a whole. As the need for interdisciplinary degrees increase, the Senior Analyst for Programs & Operations will leverage interdisciplinary collaboration with other colleges to incubate, test and scale up SJSU's offerings of interdisciplinary graduate programs. The Senior Analyst is an expert in the process of strategically planning, implementation and successful execution of emerging technologies programs. The Senior Analyst for Programs & Operations is also responsible for excellence in service to students, as well as external and internal stakeholders of EES.




Key Responsibilities



  • Manages graduate and professional development engineering programs at Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering (CoE)

  • Collaborates with Associate Deans, APCs, Dept. Chairs and Program Specialists to ensure successful faculty searches and appointments for all extended programs at CoE

  • Works closely with other SJSU units like CPGE, GAPE, IR, Registrar, Bursar and University Personnel to schedule courses, track admissions, enrollment and student success metrics. Performs other necessary tasks to ensure flawless operations of Engineering Extended Studies

  • Develops financial models for Extended Studies Programs as needed

  • Maintains $1.5 - $2.5M annual ES budget

  • Establishes guidelines for handling complex and sensitive issues for students, faculty and corporate partners

  • Develops service assessment tools and/ or performs process and program audits to evaluate departmental and student success goals; reviews current methods and metrics and modifies as necessary

  • In collaboration with Associate Dean, Extended Studies, manages onboarding processes for Extended Studies new team members

  • Determines and executes necessary process changes to ensure the best leveraging of resources for team members success and for efficient operations of ES dept

  • Authors proposals and develops financial plans for new programs




Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public/business administration

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver long-term projects and corresponding milestones

  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques, assessment tools and applicable data analytics

  • Proactive work style, effective communication and superb customer service

  • Excellent office technology skills, including working knowledge of Salesforce, PeopleSoft, Qualtrics, zoom, Canvas, and other financial and student tracking databases

  • Ability to easily navigate online social networking tools: LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, etc.




Required Qualifications



  • A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training

  • Six years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs




License


A valid driver's license is required for this position. Out of state candidates selected for the position must obtain a State of California driver's license within 10 days of hire in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles regulations.


Once hired the employee must successfully complete the Defensive Driver Training Program provided by the State of California for California State University campuses.




Preferred Qualifications



  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the corporate setting

  • Experience with administration and fiscal management of graduate engineering programs



Compensation


Classification: Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt III
Anticipated Hiring Range: $7,000 /month - $7,210/month
Salary Range: $5,908/month - $11,481/month
