Job Description:

Pursuant to a customer requirement, this position is contingent on providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Network Engineer will be responsible for local WMA installation and engineering of IT networks and Systems. Key duties include managing and allocating network installation and engineering tasks, configuring and maintaining communications systems, familiarity with implementation of LAN and WAN equipment including firewalls, servers, workstations, routers, switches, hubs, storage devices, A/V equipment and equipment racks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Must be able to provide professional installation of network and systems to support an extensive IT infrastructure within the WMA
•    Must be able to define (and execute in accordance with) detailed installation schedules
•    Must have ability to write and edit “build-to” and “as-built” documentation, as well as implementation and test plans for physical and logical installs of IT equipment 
•    Must be able to engage in technical system planning beyond the network, to include applications and systems that utilize the network being delivered
•    Must be capable of multi-floor fiber installation and quality assurance
•    Must be able to learn new technologies and characteristics of collection systems and how they affect or are effected by network characteristics
•    Provides expert level analysis of voice, video, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites.
•    Configure and maintain communication media.
•    Must be able to plan network layouts and configures systems to user environments.
•    Must be able to analyze network topologies, traffic and capacity requirements.
•    May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users. (Tier I, II, and III) 
•    Must be able to support the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
•    Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and m ay have supervisory responsibilities.
•    May serve as a technical team and/or task leader, must be independent and self-motivated.
•    Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 
•    Participates in special knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 
•    Maintain Kanban Board within JIRA.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    10-15 years of directly related experience in network systems analysis and design
DESIRED SKILLS
•    ITIL Foundations Certification a plus
•    Certifications relating to IT Security (CISSP, GIAC, Security+) a plus
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS or equivalent, 10+ years of experience
