DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker is seeking a Technical Manager- Senior Resiliency Planner specializing in hazard mitigation and emergency response planning. The Senior Resiliency Planning Manager will be responsible for building a Planning Services practice, focusing on community outreach, sustainability, entitlement services and/or hazardous mitigation planning services. This position involves the preparation of planning, regulatory and environmental documentation for various types of public/private projects. The Senior Resiliency Planner Manager will manage all aspects of emergency/hazard mitigation planning and review including the preparation of emergency response plans, hazard mitigation plans, local coastal plans, community wildfire protection plans, community outreach/communication messaging associated with hazard/emergency planning, emergency analysis associated with CEQA/NEPA documents, and team coordination.

This individual will provide all aspects of project management such as progress reports, cost tracking, meeting agendas and summaries. The position will include an emphasis on marketing, proposal preparation, and business development. Strong emphasis will be placed on hazard mitigation/emergency response planning, technical writing, business communications skills, quality of work, and the ability to successfully manage project budgets and schedules. RESPONSIBILITIES
•The management and preparation of technical documents, emergency plans, hazard mitigation plans, local coastal plans, community wildfire protection plans, joint documents, and other documents associated with CEQA/NEPA documents for clients
•Team coordination, marketing, business development pursuits and working both with our local professionals and the other offices of Michael Baker International

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Planning, Ecology or a related field is required (Master's degree is preferred)
•10+ years of experience is preferred
•Proven experience with project management, client relations, and business development
•AICP certification is preferred
•Able to build relationships with a wide variety of people is required
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams is required
•Desire to actively participate and lead a Planning Services team, focused on community based planning and design projects
•Ability to develop and mentor a team of varying specializations and abilities
•Ability to lead Policy Planning, Master Plan and Design projects of varying size and complexities in diverse communities
•Ability to lead business pursuits, perform client consultations, make presentations and lead varying levels of outreach programs
•A desire to produce first-class work and the ability to quickly get up to speed on our policy, procedures and relevant software while acquiring an understanding of the company's service offerings, and the standards relevant to your projects is required
•Familiarity with FEMA/Cal OES hazard mitigation planning process and requirements
•Familiarity with California Coastal Commission sea level rise policy and planning
•Intimate knowledge of and relationships with local and regional agencies
