What you will do

This person must be proactive in leading and/or participating on cross functional teams (i.e. manufacturing, design, quality, supply chain) with team members located in different regions, globally, to drive continuous improvement of field service knowledge management content and processes to increase the knowledge and performance of the field service organization. This person must have the knowledge to help guide the teams technically to resolve complex product design and application issues based on years of product experience, education, and training.

How you will do it!


  • Develop and maintain PTS Sharepoint site for the field service org and internal shared library for PTS agents

  • Support the Warranty Return Center with failure analysis and content creation to minimize unnecessary returns

  • Participates on product development teams with emphasis on DFMEA’s, design reviews, reliability test plans, design for manufacturing and helping to coordinate and follow up on field testing

  • Working with the Technical Communications Group is responsible for the technical content of service literature which includes Installation and Operations Manuals, Service Manuals and Repair Parts List for centrifugal and industrial chillers. Also, responsible for the technical content of training materials

  • Communicates with design, manufacturing and service groups globally sharing lessons learned and best practices to prevent issues from arising on new products being introduced to the marketplace and improve product quality and cost

  • Interacts globally with internal Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Service groups as well as component suppliers regarding component design making certain that we maintain a high level of quality and that the products we sell are reliable

  • Participates on Warranty Teams to keep abreast of field issues and participate with multi-disciplined teams to find root cause and corrective actions for resolution of these issues

  • Takes a proactive approach to coordinating and directing actions to create literature or instructional content to share with the field service organization for best practices fixes and repairs

What we look for

Required


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Other forms of training and/or education will be considered

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with the design, operation and/or manufacturing of chillers (or similar products)

  • Experience working on product development team with knowledge of Product Development Process(es) including design reviews, DFMEA’s and product reliability testing

  • Ability to work as part of multifunctional team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization and be proficient in English

  • Domestic and International travel is required (approximately 15% of time)

Preferred


  • 15 years of experience with the design, operation and/or manufacturing of chillers (or similar products)

  • Ability to speak Spanish and Mandarin

  • Experience accessing and using manufacturing systems

  • Demonstrated Six Sigma skills are a plus
