This role supports Guardian's purpose and growth strategy by equipping leaders with the leadership skills and abilities to motivate and engage their teams and specifically focuses on designing, supporting, and executing leadership development and learning strategies. As a Learning Specialist, you will develop and execute initiatives and programs enhancing our learning culture supporting our Guardian Ways of Working and in alignment with the Guardian Experience. You will be an innovative thought leader and will harness your expertise to co- develop and execute the colleague experience roadmap for learning at Guardian.
You will
Use and develop measures to quantify learning application and leveraging these metrics to make informed business decisions and to enable strategic planning
Identify, design, and deliver mixed-media content and flow for enterprise learning programs, leveraging the appropriate methodologies, technologies, and platforms to achieve an impact that resonates with adult learners. (i.e., New Leader programs, Onboarding, Career by Design, and other leadership programs)
Advocate for a modern learning experience for Guardian colleagues (personalized, adaptive, and responsive design).
Independently script, socialize and implement programs to drive engagement and adoption
Establish standards (platforms, technologies) that help define Guardian's learning and development offerings and the effectiveness of the offerings
Organize, plan, and deliver results effectively through proficient change management and project management skills
Leadership
Act as a coach and mentor to promote engagement
Provide mentorship to develop the skills and competencies of current and future team members
Partner and collaborate with HR, subject matter experts, vendors, business teams and other stakeholders to implement programs to ensure the development and retention of talent
Learning
Demonstrate knowledge in and experience with the application of adult learning theories, methods, and strategies using sound adult instructional design techniques
Work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage resources to maximize efficiency, quality, and effectiveness while meeting deadlines
Apply instructional design theories, standards, and best practices to produce effective learning and development solutions including high-quality usability and accessibility standards
Knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS) administration including Uploading, testing, and deploying SCORM and AICC -compliant courseware and developing and maintaining LMS pages, course catalog and user experience
Develops digital and mobile first training resources such as eLearning, skills-based practice, and performance support materials.
Converts PowerPoint or Word-based materials into eLearning, working with Subject Matter Experts to better understand the requirements
Analyze course enrollments and completion rates and implement strategies to increase both and monitor for learner's progress and utilization metrics to assess gaps and continuously improve
Change and Transformation
Innovation is key - must remain relentlessly up to date with emerging and future trends in learning technologies and across all relevant industries to develop best in class solutions.
Partner with global digital learning leader to develop use cases on a variety of platforms (social, learning, chatbots, VR, AR, AI, Video, Mobile, and other emerging technologies, etc.)
Plan, design, and lead change by bringing concepts to execution and translating strategy to action
Develop a strong aligned culture by role modelling and sharing what success is
Marketing and Technology
Develop Learning technology strategies to embed learning in the flow of work, drive engagement and adoption and measure impact.
Coordinate Guardian's Learning and Development award applications (i.e., T100)
Manage and engage vendors and the contracting process
Facilitate engagement: communicate and market programs to drive engagement and adoption
You are
A self-initiating individual; skilled in turning ideas into actions, partnering with key stakeholders along the way. You have experience and credentials in digital first adult learning design, are current in the evolving space of learning technologies, capable of leading change, and able to drive ideas to actions in support of enterprise initiatives.
You have
Proficiency with designing learning content and experiences with a digital/mobile first eye using a variety of content and multimedia authoring tools such as Articulate, (Storyline/Rise), Adobe Suite (Photoshop & Audition), virtual reality tools, HTML, and Microsoft Office
The ability to build strong collaborative relationships across HR and the business and seek out diverse, innovative learning solutions
Knowledge of human centered design principals; innovation processes and instructional design experience
The ability to accelerate impact and lead change through change management and project management expertise.
The capacity to continuously learn and translate that learning to tools for the enterprise
(Preferred) Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education, Business, Adult learning, Instructional Design, Communications, or a related field.
3-5 years of professional work experience (corporate setting preferred) creating content for digital or mobile learning platforms and learning management systems
Location & Vaccination Requirements
The primary location for this position is remote with WFH flexibility but will require traveling to Guardian offices as needed on a regular basis.
