The Quality Assurance Specialist will perform quality control review of audits for Mortgage Operations. Monitors quality by completing loan level research, identify root cause and trends, drafting compliance and Quality Control responses and working directly with Business Units to determine best practices, solutions and efficiency gains.

Reporting & Analytics


  • Generate and monitor reporting to look for trends, inconstancies and gaps.

  • Review and analyze cause of errors within each phase of residential lending including but not limited to Intake, Underwriting, Processing, Closing, Post-Closing and Appraisals to measure and improve the accuracy and effectiveness of processes.

Research & Responses


  • Acts as liaison between Mortgage Operations, Quality, Audit and Compliance departments

  • Drafts communication responses for all Mortgage Operations departments for Audit, Compliance, and Quality Control and Monitoring findings.

  • Practices on-the-job quality improvement by leading, facilitating, or participating in quality improvement meetings.

  • Partner with business units to identify/implement solutions, improve efficiencies and mitigate risks associated with root causes.

  • Participates in review of policies and procedures to provide business units with information for continuous quality improvement.

Loan Salability


  • Research post-closing findings and identify unsalable loans.

  • Works with Underwriting SME to determine cause and correct deficiency within both process and system technology

Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience. Previous underwriting and/or processing experience is preferred. Ability to interpret laws, rules and regulations. Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and correspondence related to work. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Knowledge of Encompass is a plus.
