Child Saving Institute (CSI) provides comprehensive services to children at risk and their families through programs such as early childhood education, in-home services, foster care, adoption, early childhood consultation, pediatric consultation, and an emergency shelter.

Child Specialist 

If you’re seeking a position that provides vital support in crisis situations, Child Saving Institute has an immediate opening for an on call Child Specialist. On a daily basis, you can make a difference in children’s lives. Located in the Triage Center at Project Harmony, this program provides support to children who are suspected to have been abused or neglected. In addition, this program provides care for children needing temporary nurturing and safety services or awaiting placement.


  • This position will supervise children, assist in gathering information to assess the needs of each child, communicate with law enforcement and Child Protective Services personnel, and advocate for the best interests of the child.

  • When appropriate, coordinate medical examinations for all children being placed in care and assist in the coordination of forensic interviews for law enforcement and CPS personnel.

  • Facilitate positive transitions into out-of-home placements.

 Monday-Friday 4-8 p.m. hours will vary per week with rotating on-call weekends. 

Job Requirements (include but are not limited to the following):


  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.


  • Minimum of one year experience with at-risk families.


  • Knowledge and skills in:

    • Child welfare issues and services

    • Advocating for families and children within the system

    • The needs of neglected, abused and exploited children

    • Child development


  • Strong direct service professional skills.

  • Own transportation in good condition, a valid driver’s license with no more than 3 points assessed against it, and insurance that meets agency requirements.
