To do this well, we are investing in HR analytics capabilities to develop talent insights that shape HR strategy and drive decision-making.  As an HR Analytics Specialist, you'll help us build upon the foundation of HR data analytics that power our teams to take action and measure our success.  Your passion for turning data into insights and action will help us take our HR analytics to the next level.  


Here's what you'll do:

Create and provide HR data and related analytics to both the Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partner teams to help drive strategic TA and HR data-driven decisions with clients and data insights for HR projects and initiatives.



  • Develop and maintain regular cadence of talent analytics and insights to inform critical and creative thinking, identify process improvement opportunities and enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Provide analytical and tactical support for TA and HR Business Partners’ client-related projects, such as talent pipeline development, workforce diversity, competency assessments, performance review rating distribution, talent reviews and assist with streamlining transactional HR processes for TA and HR Business Partner teams.

  • Partner with various HR teams and IT to develop reports and lead efforts to ensure TA and HR data integrity.

  • Work in partnership with HRIS/ITCS team to enable Oracle dashboards.

  • Stay abreast of new developments and innovation in TA and HR analytics and recommend new practices aligned with our strategies.

  • Regularly connect with other HR colleagues that focus on data and analytics to create a common approach for HR data reporting enterprise wide.

  • Assist with development of - and regularly update - TA scorecard and client talent management scorecards, summaries, and presentations.

  • Continuously improve TA and HR reporting and analysis tools and processes.

  • Assist with Affirmative Action Plan development and HR regulatory reporting (e.g., EEO-1, VETS 4212) with vendor partner.

  • Support HR Business Partners to provide monthly reporting and provide ad hoc analysis as required to support client groups

  • Support HR Business Partners to provide analysis and ensure proper focus for all business units.

  • Conduct benchmarking and research activities with other companies and organizations within and outside of the industry.  Assist leadership in interpreting and comparing benchmark and research data to BCBSM data and processes.

  • Maintain knowledge base of industry trends, corporate initiatives, current planning practices, and human resources functions to ensure appropriate application.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with other HR Shared Services departments (e.g., Compensation, Employee Benefits, Employee Services, Human Performance) and all key contacts / stakeholders within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, HR Management or related field required.

  • Five years of experience with HR analytics and core HR functions required (Generalist or specialized in one or more areas) required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of practical application of statistical analysis to business problems and situations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of functional HR areas processes, practices, technology, and laws.

  • Ability to work in matrix environment and plan/manage several high priority projects simultaneously with increasing level of autonomy.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate HR information to HR and non-HR individuals.

  • Ability to effectively interface with various levels of management internally and as wells as contacts outside the organization.

  • Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Ability to gather, synthesize and analyze data, draw conclusions, and summarize recommendations.

  • Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
