The Shopper Insights Lead within the AFC Business Unit will have responsibility for leading the Business Unit in understanding shopper, category and retail / total Commerce trends.  The individual in this role will be responsible for engaging with Kimberly-Clark Customer Teams, and for acting as Insights SME with Retailers, where needed.  Qualified candidates will have experience and expertise in designing and executing insight work, including proficiency in insight methodologies, data analysis and development of compelling and actionable insight reports.  A background of shopper, consumer and / or category insights is essential to success in the role.  Key capabilities will include strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively across teams and to interact with customers.

POSITION SCOPE:

This role represents the voice of the shopper for the AFC Business Unit and is responsible for ensuring brand & category initiatives follow “Insights to Execution” principles.   The role primarily supports AFC Marketing and Sales, working across AFC Brands as well as across customers.  This individual collaborates closely with Category Management, BU Sales, Marketing, and Insights & Analytics teams--linking category, brand, shopper and customer solutions. 

This is a Work Flex position allowing for Part- Time home office based.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develop and deploy retailer, category and shopper research and analyses (e.g. path-to-purchase, situation assessment, strategic business plan, etc.).

  • Drive strategic category leadership initiatives by leading development of foundational tools to enable Field teams to strategically partner with customers to share Kimberly Clark category vision and growth platforms.

  • Work cross-functionally to integrate insights driven strategies to drive omni-channel category and brand growth.

  • Identify opportunities to drive digital category and brand growth via search, navigation, digital shelf, assortment, digital marketing, etc. 

  • Provide insights and thought leadership in support of key business processes (e.g. Top-to-Tops, Innovation Summits, strategic business planning, etc.).


  • Partner with Field Shopper Insights team members to leverage FC insights and translate into customer-facing insights through the understanding of the customers’ shoppers.

  • Build insights-centric sales stories, by leveraging best available sources of data and insight and creating compelling story-telling narratives.

  • Lead integration of FC Shopper Insights Learning agenda and create strong linkage between FC I&A and Field Shopper Insights, to ensure that FC BU research initiatives are informed by shopper and retailer dynamics, and that the insights are compelling, accessible, and useful to Field Sales.     

  • Ensure BU go-to-market strategies & executions, including packaging changes, innovation, shopper marketing, etc. are based on shopper understanding and needs.

  • Pilot and promote new shopper insights capabilities within the FC Business Unit.


EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Experience and expertise in designing and executing shopper research.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transforming business analyses and data from multiple sources into actionable insights for Sales, Shopper Marketing, and Category Management. 

  • Proven track record of leveraging innovative ideas and approaches to business analyses and research, via new analytical approaches, methodologies and thought frameworks. 

  • A history of creativity in the use of data and the exploration of emerging data sources.

  • History of influencing internal partners and retailers with data-driven insights, and a track record for driving business results via strategic insights.

  • Ability to foster collaborative partnerships with Category Management, Shopper Marketing, Brand Marketing and Sales, and a history of leveraging these partnerships to win with retailers and shoppers.   

  • Proficient in PC-based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to develop and deliver actionable insights relative to customer, category and retail marketplace performance.
