Assistant Quality Assurance Supervisor at The Chicago Lighthouse

Job Description:

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Utilize skillset to assist throughout both the clock or sub-contract departments, where required, to ensure quality processes and products. Responsible for ensuring quality of operations with focus on warehouse and shipping processes. Perform duties as assigned which may include the following:

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:


  • Assists Supervisors and Plant Manager in the development, implementation and monitoring of safe production practices, quality products and regulatory compliance.

  • Learn to operate the blister packing, shrink-wrapping, die cutting and binding machines.

  • Monitor machinery to ensure high quality production and assist in maintenance where applicable.

  • Assist in preparation for and execution of customer, corporate, and third-party audits.

  • Provide technical assistance on projects and in the execution of specialized product tests.

  • Cover duties in the absence of Production Supervisors.

  • Organize, maintain and transport inventory in warehouse with guidance from Plant Manager.

  • Enhance and maintain organization of finished goods inventory located in Shipping Department.

  • Perform supply and inspection duties.

  • Adhere to safety rules and procedures, provide a safe, clean and well-organized work environment by correcting and/or reporting safety issues or concerns to supervisors.

  • Acquire additional skills through cross training to gain versatility and the ability to perform other jobs as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • At least one year of experience working in an industrial setting.

  • Dependability and the ability to work independently or as part of a team required.

  • DOT and forklift licenses required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
