The Nurse Manager will be responsible for identifying and assuming responsibility for high risk clients. Communicate with admissions team about any pertinent information regarding clients. Will assist in prior authorization of services. Communicate with other disciplines to ensure client needs are being met. Complete chart monitoring to identify and carry out action plans. Review MAR’s for clients to ensure completeness. The Nurse Manager will assist staff as needed by prioritizing and organizing the shift and completion of the unit scheduling. Complete monthly unit meetings as well as risk management and treatment team meeting. Will provide nursing assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, vitals, and assisting medical doctor as needed.

Nurse Manager will assist in responding to client grievances and keeping Director of Nursing informed of any client or staff issues that may arise. Providing sample meds and coordination with the pharmacy to ensure client needs are being met in a cost-effective manner. Ensure any lab work is being reviewed and addressed as well as HCG results being obtained before beginning any meds. Involved in Performance Improvement Projects. Maintain staff development needs and ensure records are up to date. Ensure infection control policy and procedures are maintained. Will be responsible for Nurse recruitment, retention and professional development. Nursing competency and evaluation completion for all staff being supervised. Review detox protocols and length of stay with all new staff. Supervision of other RN’s and LPN’s.

Must possess skills to communicate effectively and interact well with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information, working well in an individual/ group problem solving situation, and showing initiative in problem solving. Maintains consistency with clients, staff, visitors, and the public. Ability to be calm and decisive in a crisis situation and react appropriately. Ability to make decisions in an objective and ethical manner. Ability to sustain a team environment while driving continuous improvement projects.

 

 

Requirements

 

 

Education/Experience: Current RN license in state of practice and BSN preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. Awareness and understanding of regulating bodies (CARF, Office of Mental Health, DDAP). Strong background in D&A and Co-occurring Disorders, knowledge of HIPAA laws, confidentiality, and state licensing regulations. Willingness to obtain an approved nursing certification is required within one year of hire.
