Role


Plans, coordinates, supervisors all activities related to the design, development, implementation of the bank's software applications.  Coordinates the installation and support of software purchased from outside vendors.  Manages multiples teams supporting different products or lines of businesses.  Directs and guides managers in meeting the bank's most important priorities.  Builds strong working relationships with key business and IT stakeholders to distribute and support innovative solutions, using data and technology for the bank.  Works closely with the Chief Technology Officer to define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing information technologies and recommends technology strategies. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities  



  • Be a trusted advisor that builds and maintains relationships with other technical leaders and business executives to develop an understanding of business needs; ensure efficient delivery of IT services to meet those needs.

  • Develop, manage and communicate the strtegic roadmap for workloads, applications, and databases for on-premise or cloud technology.

  • Assists in the development of project financials, budgeting, forecasting & staffing.

  • Manage, motivate and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.  Develop the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning. Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback.  Recommends hires, transfers, terminations, salary adjustments, performance standards and reviews.

  • Maintain effective communication with all IT employees and Business Units to ensure coordination and exchange of information for accomplishing goals.

  • Manage the activities of partners and outside resources that may be working on assigned projects.

  • Participates in the planning and participation of any internal or external audit responses.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.

Requirements



  • Seven to ten years experience as a leader in managing IT teams.  Experience working in financial services.  Must be able to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.  Excellent experience in conceptual, organizational, analytical problem solving.  Experience with technology programs utilized by the company including, but not limited to, the Core Banking Application, Lending, Internet/Intranet applications and Microsoft Office products.

  • Prefer a bachelor's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

  • Skilled in coordinating system enhancements and development of new software.  The ability to motivate or influence others is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy, influence and trust.  Obtaining cooperation internally or externally from a senior level, as well as frequent material presentations are important keys to successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of this position.
