A&M's Private Equity Performance Improvement Services (PEPI) practice, with offices throughout the US, focuses on serving upper middle market and large cap private equity firms who have engaged A&M to help improve operating results at their portfolio companies. The companies we serve are upper middle market in the $50 million to over $1 billion plus range.

Data Analyst

A&M is seeking a data analyst to bring their energy, passion and expertise to help PEPI leadership gain insights into the reporting and processes of the practice. The Data Analyst is an internal role within A&M's Private Equity Performance Improvement group, reporting directly to the CFO/COO of the practice. PEPI is a growing business targeting high growth in the next two to five years. We offer excellent opportunities for career advancement and building leadership skills.

Job Description

  • Create customized dashboards that turn practice data into meaningful summaries for the PEPI leadership teams and professional staff.

  • Apply financial knowledge to make key insights into the data

  • Use critical thinking skills to continuously improve reporting capabilities

  • Rethink current processes to improve efficiency and scalability

  • Liaise with A&M's corporate finance organization to obtain data and analysis in a timely and efficient manner

  • Partner with other business units to share best practices and benchmarks across the firm

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for leadership meetings

  • Ad-hoc projects

Ideal candidate profile

  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably with combined studies in Information Systems and Finance or related business and technology field

  • 2+ years of relevant experience

  • Applied proficiency with at least one programming/scripting language (Python or SQL)

  • Proficiency using data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI

  • Exceptional project management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor

  • Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings
