Primary Job Purpose

The Provider Communications and Content Specialist Senior is responsible for developing communications content and strategy in support of provider strategy objectives. This role will collaborate with functional areas of the organization to create and curate engaging, provider audience-driven content and deliver strategic communications for target external and internal audiences. The position works closely with various stakeholders, including: Healthcare Services, Network Management and Accountable Health and Strategic Communications leadership, project managers, and technical support in creating and maintaining communication delivery channels, and support project and event deliverables as needed to help achieve organizational goals. The Provider Communications and Content Specialist Senior manages communications, project and web content with greater scope and complexity and requires application of deeper subject matter and systems expertise.

General Functions and Outcomes

  • Develop, manage and disseminate provider communications content, strategy and metrics - with a primary focus on Regence, and BridgeSpan Health's four-state provider audience and Asuris Northwest Health through newsletters and bulletins - as well as cascading strategy and messaging across all provider communications channels.

  • Provides communications best practices support and consultation, reporting and diagnostic work for specified initiatives while applying creative thinking and imaginative techniques to drive to innovative solutions for our business customers.

  • Researches, writes, edits and curates content, designs publications and disseminates e-newsletter and bulletins.

  • Researches, writes, edits and designs a variety of additional provider communications collateral as needed, including but not limited to talking points, letters, postcards, education collateral, Administrative Manual updates, articles for internal and external publications, fact sheets, presentations and provider website content.

  • Create, edit, and manage the content of all Regence, Asuris and BridgeSpan provider websites and online activities.

  • Collaborates with internal departments and key external stakeholders to create enticing and innovative messages, consistent with business goals and objectives.

  • Researches information, statistics and trends in the health care industry and applies knowledge and data to strategic messaging and creation of documents to convey messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Provides strategic counsel and research support to Healthcare Services team.

  • Supports the creation, monitoring and enforcement of messaging consistency for key external issues.

  • Identify and presents organizational, procedural, and operational changes to staff.

  • Plans, organizes and prioritizes assignments to comply with performance standards, corporate goals, and established timelines.

  • Identifies problems or needed changes, recommends resolution, and participates in quality improvement efforts.

  • Leads newsletter and bulletin publications across the health plan's markets, including researching, writing, editing and curating content, designing publications and disseminates e-newsletter and managing tracking/overall performance metrics.

  • Manages relationships with outside vendors and internal team for electronic communications (e.g., SalesForce Marketing Cloud), and provides back up for internal Provider Communications team when needed.

  • Provides process improvement, consultation, facilitation and management for targeted provider projects including defining requirements, identifying systems improvements, and recommending actions

  • Assists leadership with problem identification and resolution, and program development by researching, assessing, and analyzing issues, and providing recommendations.

  • Identifies and drives execution of organizational, procedural, and operational changes and functions within and across plans.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong digital and technical skills: SalesForce Marketing Cloud experience preferred; web and social media content creation experience preferred; experience in graphic layout and design preferred; comprehensive use of Microsoft Office and Adobe products required.

  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, research and organizational skills required; experience writing in a variety of voices, including persuasive, informative and personal.

  • Knowledge of health insurance preferred, including medical and dental terminology, procedural and diagnosis coding, reimbursement methodologies and various provider network arrangements.

  • Ability to coordinate activities with all levels of staff and external agencies through clear, concise and compelling verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to distill complicated, technical messages into consumer-friendly language.

  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities and limited resources.

  • Ability to maintain grace and good humor under pressure. Demonstrated analytical ability to identify problems, develop solutions and implement a chosen course of action.

  • Basic web content editing skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage workload independently.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to direct and coordinate activities of individuals, implementation teams, and external agencies.

  • Demonstrated experience with project management methodologies and practices, specifically in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Working knowledge of Cambia's business processes, products and systems and an understanding of how they interrelate across departments and divisions.

  • Collaborates with internal departments and key external stakeholders to create enticing and innovative messages, consistent with business goals and objectives.

  • Progressively more advanced web content editing and Adobe software skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of activity.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above

Provider Communications and Content Specialist Senior would have a Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field required and at least 7 years of professional writing or equivalent communications experience including at least 2 years of experience in a Network Management role or equivalent combination of education and experience with progressively stronger professional writing, web deployment and project management skills.
