PRIMARY JOB DUTIES :
Plans, organizes and directs engineering to meet company objectives for design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines by performing the duties personally or through subordinates.
Leads day-to-day leadership and management of the assigned mechanical engineering team. Builds and manages a competent team by effectively training and developing employees, delegating work assignments, assisting with writing and conducting performance appraisals, coaching and counseling.
Provides design feasibility and problem-solving experiment design at a high technical level, coordinates engineering projects with responsibility for directing the work of other engineers, technicians, designers and drafters.
Works collaboratively with the Business Unit Leaders and the Sales Team and the Lead Engineer on projects ranging from simple parts to complex machinery for a wide variety of industries.
Ensures all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
Works as part of a cross functional team to facilitate understanding and resolution of product development issues across multiple product lines.
Serves as a key resource to examine mechanical behavior issues and bring to resolution for existing products.
Provides leadership and technical direction to cross functional teams. This includes development of mechanical engineering drawings, internal and external customer deliverables, and providing technical support to manufacturing, sourcing, and project engineering. Develops detailed project plans and guides teams through execution.
Meets with customers to gather and analyze customer requirements, establish project vision and goals, communicate project plan updates, and ultimately deliver a high-quality product.'
Creates product testing methods and ensures recording of testing results for machinery. Performs quality inspections, red-lining engineering drawing such as general arrangements, drawings, etc. and follows through with corrections and certification for corrections, if needed.
