The Associate Director, Global Safety CES will ensure a high level of Governance and operating compliance in CES Safety, especially in close partnership with Global COE, RBU CES and SHEQ teams globally and all other Group wide related CES activities and businesses, supporting our strategic vision of "not harming people" by means of 'zero' incidents.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Improve CES Safety Performance & Compliance
Work closely with RBU's CES, Linde Engineering (LE), Global COE and other business entities within the Linde Group. E.g. annual planning, targets and priorities, to ensure Governance and compliance.
Support the development of CES safety standards to mitigate risks and ensure appropriate management of employees and contractors (in alignment with RBU's CES, Linde Engineering (LE), and other business entities within the Linde Group).
Monitor and track safety records and performance as of CES audit results, investigation findings, to ensure Governance.
CES Major Events (ME), Fatality Potential Events (FPE), Noteworthy (NW) and Near Miss (NM)reporting Governance
Review all investigation reports relating to CES events, submitted via RBU CES, LE, and other Linde entities.
Ensure incidents are investigated consistently and in line with Linde processes and expectations.
Recommend closure of Major Events including FPE's after reviewing the same with the Manager.
Review CES incident data bases and provide recommendations for improvement programs.
Conduct on the ground serious incident investigations as required by the business & Executive Board (EB).
Involvement in specific strategy projects focus areas to support Business needs and planned improvement areas.
Serves as an active member of the CES ToE's (Teams of Experts) and leads certain internal or external projects for improving CES safety performance and governance.
Lead projects for developing training materials to support RBU CES and Business needs.
Provide technical safety training to the RBU CES teams to improve the competencies of the teams.
Collaborate with RBU and Business teams to improve Contractor Management practices and assist the teams with key recommendations.
Work closely with Process Engineering and Procurement teams for the CES safety area.
Participate in the RBU and Business unit audits and recommend improvements.
Prepare Monthly reports and presentation material as required in conjunction with RBU teams and/ or other Group business where appropriate.
Work with Global COE, RBU CES / SHEQ teams and other business units on CES related communication topics including best practices, lessons learned, etc., to share among the RBU's and global Business teams.
Prepare and communicate Directives and Alerts based on learnings.
Participate in external activities
Participate in Trade and Industry working groups as required.
Integrity Line investigations
Conduct IL investigations as required.
Compile IL report template.
Salary and Job Level Commensurate with Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other related technical discipline.
10+ years' experience in senior/middle management operational roles with specific responsibilities for CES areas.
7+ years of general management experience in an operational role.
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time (international)
Post- graduate executive programs are a plus, e.g.: HSE, MBA, behavioural safety, compliance, Linde University.
Visible leadership and decision-making capabilities to support & require performance and change.
Strategic thinking to develop and manage strategies cross countries, business and cultures.
Strong ability to execute and manage projects and processes.
