We're looking for a Manager to join our Learning team within Mission Control. Mission Control is the organization responsible for end-to-end workforce planning and execution for all technical departments at Meta (ex. Facebook, Instagram, Infrastructure). This includes the management of our onboarding, extended onboarding, and continued education programs (ex. Engineering Bootcamp, Analytics Camp, Performance Academy) which are designed to help technical talent launch and thrive. In this new role, you will lead a team of Learning Experience Designers to develop and continuously improve learning experiences (ex. live classes, videos, online courses, hands-on activities) used within our programs. You will collaborate with peer managers, Learning Program Managers, and cross-functional partners to drive the evolution of our learning library. Your efforts should result in improvements to our content favorability and freshness ratings as well as our program effectiveness and satisfaction ratings. Some of these metrics have benchmarks and some don't exist yet. We're looking for someone to help us build a foundation that will lead to our long-term success. <ul><li>Build and develop a high performing team of 8+ Learning Experience Designers through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching</li><li>Define the strategic vision of the team and build a plan that leads to achieving that vision</li><li>Manage the continuous improvement of our learning library which is made up of 20+ curricula and 700+ learning objects</li><li>Oversee the in-house and outsourced development of learning experiences (ex. online courses) in close partnership with Learning Program Managers</li><li>Implement a Learning Design language for the team to follow and ensure design standards and best practices are used in every project</li><li>Decide the best design model for the team to operate within (ex. ADDIE, SAM), help the team onboard to that model, and adjust where necessary to ensure adoption</li><li>Manage team bandwidth to ensure we are always operating near 100% capacity and propose org changes to support the needs of the business</li><li>Define KPIs, set targets, and build a plan that gets us to meet and exceed those targets</li><li>Evaluate learner usage and sentiment data to understand the performance of our library and communicate recommendations for improvement on a regular basis</li><li>Partner with Learning Program Managers to understand the learning design needs across the team and collaboratively prioritize the content development roadmap</li><li>Collaborate with our Learning Operations partners (ex. LMS Managers) to ensure our team is getting the support we need and we are continuously improving (ex. processes)</li><li>Build an influential network of people who are willing to support our team and programs</li><li>Experiment with the latest learning tools, practices, and innovations to help us stay fresh</li><li>Share frequent progress updates with the team, partners, and stakeholders</li><li>Travel occasionally within the United States and possibly internationally</li></ul>
<ul><li>BA or BS degree</li><li>3+ years of experience managing and developing a team of employees</li><li>5+ years of experience developing online and/or in-person learning materials</li><li>Experience implementing adult learning and accessible design best practices</li><li>Experience developing influential relationships with technical and non-technical people</li><li>Experience identifying problems and implementing thoughtful solutions</li><li>Experience using data to understand trends and guide decisions</li><li>Experience using standard publishing tools (ex. G Suite, Office 365, Adobe CC)</li><li>Experience using the latest development tools (ex. Articulate 360, Vyond, Camtasia)</li><li>Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously</li><li>Experience gaining buy-in from others and leading through change</li></ul>
<ul><li>MBA or another advanced degree</li><li>Experience managing Learning Experience Designers or Instructional Designers</li><li>Experience developing or overseeing the development of technical training materials</li><li>Experience managing a dispersed team of in-person and remote employees</li><li>Experience working in and/or supporting a tech organization</li><li>Experience overseeing complex change management</li><li>Experience using the back-end of learning management systems (ex. Cornerstone)</li></ul>
