Job Description Summary: PayPal Merchant Product Finance team is a key partner and enabler of the product and engineering organization at PayPal. As part of this team, the Manager, Merchant Product Finance will be responsible for helping the senior business leaders to meet key financial as well as business objectives and KPI goals. This role will get direct exposure to PayPal's merchant product strategy which enables ~$1 trillion volume, provide data driven support for trade-off discussions across the product roadmap and work with cross functional partners to drive execution of plans and track the performance.
Core Responsibilities include:
Partner with product leaders to drive successful outcomes in the merchant product area, help to define business and financial goals to drive accountability and ownership on Hyperwallet and PayPal Commerce Platform
Own detailed models for in-depth analyses, as well as ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy. Be the product team's go-to financial partner for ad hoc analysis for Hyperwallet and PayPal Commerce Platform
Lead strategic and financial planning processes for merchant product team (e.g. Monthly review, annual budget, and long range forecast), and evaluate organizational tradeoffs in planning to influence decision making and product roadmap
Leverage financial background to support and influence key strategic and product decisions, build business cases on new product initiatives
Provide analytical rigor and develop critical success and business performance metrics, pull together a unified financial story for merchant products and initiatives, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
6+ years of relevant experience within strategic finance, ideally at a high-growth technology company, investment banking or management consulting
Bachelor's degree in business, finance/accounting or similar field is required; Master's degree preferred
A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners; you are seen as a trusted and objective advisor
Extensive experience building detailed financial models that is used to drive business decisions
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills is a must, including the ability to explain and present analyses
Self-starter and capable of driving business results without significant supervision
Managerial experience of building high performing team is a nice-to-have
Comfortable working in a fast paced, cross functional team environment
