Join WSB, a Globally recognized Design and Consulting firm, Co-Op program starting May of 2022. We are looking for students pursuing degrees in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields. Our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Co-Ops will work primarily in the field with guidance from a Professional Engineer and Senior Construction Inspector. This position does include a work truck, company laptop, and cell phone.

WSB will provide paid training for State and industry recognized certifications.

What You Will Do:

  • Our CMT Co-Op will assist other staff with materials testing and construction documentation for highway, land development, municipal, and vertical construction projects.
  • Our projects are located primarily in the Greater Minneapolis Metropolitan area. All work-related travel includes a company provided vehicle.
  • You will gain training and exposure to various field and/or lab testing on concrete, aggregates, soils, and bituminous asphalts.
  • Other training and certifications you will gain include: Nuclear Density Gauge Certification, ACI Concrete Field I, OSHA 8, HAZMAT, Defensive Driving, and DOT flagger.
  • Our Co-ops will also have the opportunity to work with our Geotechnical Engineering staff and our Geotechnical Drillers.
  • While working in our on-site lab, you will be trained to perform testing in accordance to the following standards: MnDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM standards.

What You Will Bring:

  • The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and will be pursuing Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Enrollment in an engineering technical degree program or completion of one to two years towards a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • The ideal candidate will have a high level of interest in large scale, complex Transportation and Civil Engineering projects.
  • Having a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Eligible candidates must possess a valid driver's license, have a clean driving record, and have the ability to get to the office for the start of each work day.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Due to the physical nature of the work, you must be able to lift 75 lbs. periodically. You're required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. At times you may be working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, in confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
